What Are Dental Implants?
Dental implants are designed to restore your tooth from root to crown. The titanium implant post is placed directly in your jaw to provide a strong foundation for a stunning porcelain crown. After they heal, your implants will look and function just like natural teeth.
The Dental Implant Process
The dental implant process is typically completed in multiple appointments over the course of several months. After your implants are placed, you’ll need to wait three to six months before returning to our office for your final restoration. This is to allow time for osseointegration, the process of the implant fixture fusing with your jaw.
Am I a Candidate for Dental Implants?
The first step to receiving dental implants is scheduling your initial consultation with Dr. Young. During this visit, he’ll thoroughly examine the state of your oral health to determine if you’re ready for implants. If you suffer from gum recession or jawbone deterioration, one or more supplemental treatments can prepare your smile for implant surgery.
